Cobalt SS Charger on Stock Internals?
Tuesday, May 16, 2006 4:15 PM
I was offered a Cobalt SS Supercharger with 10K miles on it for $200 and it comes with intercooler and everything except pully and belt. I was wondering how much PSI I could run without hurting the motor AT ALL. I want to be efficient on gas and I was told to put larger injectors in. How much would it cost for injectors? Also what kind of horsepower could i expect?

Remember, this is on STOCK internals?

Thanks!

it is the same thing as the kit gm offers...............read up go to seach and type in 2.2 charger

it will run 10-12 on stock internals....and there is a reflash so your car can handle it

Can someone direct me to a "How To Install a Cobalt SS SuperCharger on your 2.2 ECO" website? I would like to know what kind of work i'm in for. Also I am not sure if it matters or not, but do I need to do anything to the Trans (5 Speed) for this?

Thanks for your help, I am new to BOOST, but very interested!

who buys a supercharger thinking you wont hurt your motor AT ALL, and thinking your going to get good gas milae still, sorry dude your screwed a sc isnt for you if those are your goals. it is IMPOSSIBLE to boost a car and keep it as reliable as it was pre-boost. you can run a couple psi with little issues whatsoever but it wont run fast.

Umm... There are GM SC 22.4s with 90K SC miles? If you keep the kit running on exactly what its made to do and take care of it you will be fine. This is a GM Kit, not some backyard turbo set up. Look at SC GTPs, my dad had one with 404K miles on it, ran like a top. A properly tuned car or eco motor will run fine with boost, as long as properly installed and calibrated.

Also for MPG, the SC uses the bypass valve system meaning only boost when you want it depending on how much you are into the gas. So when you cruise or are not in boost you retain the same gas mileage.

Boost is sweet, but misleading
