1998 2.4 GM SC, WITHOUT Check Engine Light On!

Just wanted to post up saying that I hooked up my ZZ performance EGR D-Lete and it WORKED! You have no clue how nice it is to drive the car W/O the engine light on, now it passes inspection. Also it runs a ton better. I would reccomend it to any GM SC pre 99 guys, it runs awesome with no stumbling like others have seen. The car runs like stock and idles about 900rpm, and the install took around 5 mins. So from my experience, yes the EGR sim does work.

Anyone else with good things on the egr sim?

Just thought I would share,
Chris

it made my car run like crap. it would hesitate when i took off, and randomly stall.
thing is what you have to do is see how much voltage that thing is pulling(causing it to run goofy).
i say give it a little time b4 you say it runs perfect. you never know.

clearing the check engine light is my way to go.

i still have the simulator sitting somewhere.

i think the 98's like that thing. i know another guy with it and no issues.

how did you connect your wires? soilder?

wonder how it works on a 97

i wonder if it has to do with the 96 having the different style pcm ??

I just cut the wires and connected them with the screw on butt connectors and sealed them. No water can get inside and I prefer that style connector. I have let the car run for a long time and no problems. I am still breaking in the new motor so nothing over 3.5K, but it has been running flawlessly. I am so excited to not have to deal with a CEL anymore.

Install is simple, just cut the center wire on the MAP sensor and I believe the green wire goes first and then the white, I gotta go check. I am not even sure of how much the simulator was from ZZ, because it came with the package I got. Anyone know the price? It is worth every penny, considering I believe you have to pay 400$ to NYS if you cant get the engine light off. I would say it is worth the gamble, maybe the PCms take it differently? Does anyone else run this and have good experiences, to date I have heard nothing but saying it made it stumble, thats why I was not sure about trying it. But since the wireing was so simple I figured why not.

Good luck, let me know if anyone elses works.

Chris
