Supporting engine when removing lower mount to tap

Do you need to support the engine to remove the lower motor mount. I need to remove it to remove the oil pan to tap for my oil return on my turbo. I know when i put the lower mount in i supported the engine on the oil pan w/ a block of wood but i cant do that cause i need to remove it. how do i support the engine without a cherry picker or something like that?

No, the upper mount and tranny will hold it in.

mine was fine too.... on that note tho my upper mount was trashed... so trashed in fact that when i replaced it i had the engine jacked and supported with a strap where it needed to be to come out. that was 2" down and 1.5" back from where it needed to be for the new one!!!!!!
