well i searched and searched and tons of posts came up a couple scatterd with 95-99 info.. so what ALL needs to happen and how hard is it to put a gm s/c on a pre 99. im on the verge of buying on
Do i need the injectors? (how hard are injectors to put on)
What do i do with the EGR (anything else except block off and deal with CEL?)
Starter im aware of- (bolt off and bolt new one on correct?)
About how long does this take to install?
Any special tools needed?
What about spark plugs. the kit comes with spark plugs Do i need them gapped any different then stock? i would imagine.
ive read about 5-6 hour install. What is the hardest part about it.
Do my cruise control and throttle just bolt directly to it? without any problem with either?
I would like to talk to anyone that has done this with a pre 99+ please im me or leave s/n i will im u

Thanx~!
* There is NO way you can put the s/c on a pre 99..................................
In order to put the s/c on your pre 99 you should.....
1. Be able to use the injectors with the kit AS LONG as you have the little skinny injectors already. (Only if you have a 99 or newer)
2. If you have the skinny injectors...then you most likely have the starter that you need.
(Only 99 and newer)
3. And if you have the above then you have NO egr whatsoever so you dont have to worry about it.(Only 99 and newer)
If you are installing this on a 98 or older car then you will need to
1. Get different injectors because you will not be able to use the s/c injectors.....
2. You will also need to get the 99+ starter cause it is smaller.....just a bolt on/off part
3. Egr you will need to block off...if you have a 98 or older car....
4. You will be able to use the spark plugs that come with the kit....just gap them at 35 or 40.
It took me about 5-6 hours to install....Just your basic tools are needed.....Anything else just let me know on here or you can get me on aol- my name is glfcbbb.
*** On a side note!**- I'm seriously considering making a GM S/C Sticky....What do all you guys think!!??!?!?!
Car is for Sale!Supercharger kit is for sale!
it took me 3 1/2 hours and the hardest part i thought were the 2 bolts under the s/c(kinda hard to get to).but a very easy setup to install
thank you for the info. you should def make a GM S/C stickey.
and its very easy to get a pre 00 2.4l tuned. i have my 97 grand am pretty much tuned with easy bolt ons
yes def PRE 00+ sticky.. im going to im you now..
does anyone have pix of s/c install? how about where to get a EGR block off?
is there any other way or am i stuck with CEL?
not to be a dick, but search and you will get all the answers and then some.
i did search theres tons of posts about s/c.. any special things i could type in or links u know off the top of ur head?. i have the money saved i really want the charger but i just want details on the install nothing i hate more then being screwed in the middle of something
dude dont waste your time with the s/c
just get 1 of them electric 1's youll be alot safer with it
then get that turbo deal that goes in the exhaust tip
youll end up blowing your stuff up and crying that everyone that would have tried to help you caused your motor to blow up
you needed help trying to do rear brakes , and still had to tow your cav to the dealer or some shop to ge them fixed
that along with the ricer crap youve been doing to your car , youll blow it up
yes im being a serious dick head , but he will be alot safer , and we will hear less crap this way
for those that dont understand , go through his posts for the last 6-8 months
ya, best bet is to search. i have made too many posts about this topic in the past and so have others. i bet if you go back 5 pages, on each page there is a how to post on what to do to make the gm s/c work.
i never had to tow my car to the dealership u moron
i bet barely anyone on this site can do drums there first time trying
either way i put them together enough to obviously drive to the dealership without a problem
what is so "Ricey" about my car?? pick it apart.. please do
anyways is there anyone that has done a s/c install themselves? id love to im someone n chat about it everyone that has one ive came across had it installed by somewhere else
according to dave , who you always ask questions to said you had to put your car back together and tow it some where to get the rear brakes done , because you couldnt do it
plus the post you had about doing the rear brakes , and alot of people told you if its your first time NOT TO DO IT YOUR SELF
but yet you attempted it and failed
ok rice list
your fake nitrous purge
lambo doors
white(atleast thats the color they look in the pics) shift and park brake boots
your black projector headlights and corners
rubber duckie antena
steering wheel cover
the painted interior parts
your air freshners
the blue paint behind your front end
i could go on but i gotta get back to work
but seriously though , dont do the s/c or a turbo , youll have to many problems , and there isnt alot of people that i would even trust to set your car up in PS , so that it would be reliable for you
putting a supercharger on a 4door is more ricey then all that put together. thanx for ur opinion tho it will be ingored like always.. thanx for keeping my post on top also
its not ricey
its euro , since benz and bwn are doing it
97cavie24ls(JDM&00s/c sedans) AH HA HA HA YOU CALL HIM A RICER?! It seems to me you dont know JACK about cavaliers!! First of all you are driving a 2.2 AUTO 4DR! I actually think my grandmother has the same car as you! And you are doing little to nothing to your vehicle besides painting your "cam cover" and putting toyota badged sh** on your car... I think you should shut your mouth about other peoples cars until you get the ball rollin a little better on yours.....
2.2 auto 4dr , WTF
and painted cam cover , WTF 2.2's dont have cam covers , you dousche bag
dude pull your head outta your ass dousche bag , and read my profile
neither of my 4dr cavs are powered by a 2.2 ohv , both are FACTORY 2.4's , check the 8th digit of your VIN# and it will be a
"T" same as my VIN#'s
not 1 of my cars is badged as a toyota cav either
here is a pic for you , and if you want to nit pick it brandon go ahead , i will say the venom fuel rail is there because it was easier for my fuel pressure gauge
Hey @!#$. I wouldn't be caught dead in that @!#$ car anyways man. Maybe you should stop talkin @!#$ about other peoples rides and worry about your own.
mine will still run circles around your dousche bag cav
atleast i know about cavs unlike you
oh you wanna place a bet on that? where you located? lets set something up and i'll take your money! and what do u know about cavs? you dont know about mine ass so stop runnin your mouth

And plus he was just asking a good question... Not putting himself out to be criticized. Especially by a moron like you...dousche bag. Ah ha ha maybe you should get a new word too man. I think that one was wore out when it was actually popular to say it about 5 years ago....
