hey guys i was wonderin, everyone thats gotten the rsm s/c kit has complained about the reflash and fuel management, would that problem go away if the computer is running of the gm reflash, maybe establish a better tune out of it?
I don't see why not. GM suggests that if you're boosted that you should get the Reflash (according to the GM Performance book) but the problem is trying to get the flash and Map sensor. I'm still trying to find out if you have to go to a certain dealership to get it done. There are other topics talking about it as well.

if you didn't already have the rsm kit, pretty much anyone would have, at this point, advised against it... but yes, the gm supercharger reflash for the eco should work pretty well, there are some differences in the the boost/power curves of the two different superchargers so it won't be absolutely optimum, but probably a lot better than what you've got now. If you get it, do everyone a favor and go get some dyno runs with a/f readout and see what happens.

doesnt the RSM kit come with a different map ensor or a 2 bar map sensor? Why not buy that seperate from RSM instead the one from GM....since the GM needs modification and is still hard to get at the moment. RSM use's a centrificle <sp> Charger so if the kit comes with a map sensor it should fit in the stock manifold???? This is shooting in the dark so I dont know!
I've talked with a few folks with 03+ Ecos and the RSM Charger and Reflash. For the most part they don't seem to have any codes, misfires, or leaning out. It seems the 02 Ecotec is the headache with the RSM reflash. If you have the RSM reflash you might not need the GM one. Check your A/F ratios and then go from there.
my friend here local in phx has a 00 grand am 2.4 with the rsm s/c and the gm s/c reflash
it ran pretty good , although i think he has a s/c problem now
his user id here is mike
I know that Borgs car was programmed with the GM Reflash but was
running the Vortech Unit.
He was also using the Injectors and map sensor that came with the GM Kit.
All in all I was impressed for the 7 months I had it on my car.
what did you do now borgs ???
it sounds like the vortec isnt on your car now ???
what are you doing now ???
or is it top secret ??
i've heard the 02's had problems, i have never ran a single code for nething, the air/fuel is always pretty good. im hearing lots of complaints from ppl about the rsm kit but i have only had on problem with the kit and that was due to my local dealership messing up sumthing. the cars runs strong i just didnt know if it would be better to try and get the gm reflash
yeah, I have an LD9 with the gm reflash and 2 bar map and 310's on an intercooled RSM blower. Works great except for the fact that the bearings on the end of the s/c shaft are @!#$ up now... It still works fine, but theres just a little vibration to it that kinda sucks. That, and the fact that the grand am's ABS box is located RIGHT UNDER the s/c, and the blower caused a brake line to get @!#$ up, and I needed to reflare it. I'll be switching to the m45 later this month, and I'll be selling the RSM blower for REAL cheap. I'll start a topic on it when I get it. I'll also be selling the 2 bar map and injectors that come with the kit, as I already have them.
Oh, and in the gm kit, are there brackets that are specifically used for the n-body and not the j's? cuz if I end up with extra brackets that are just for the j's, those will be for sale too.
sorry to hijack the thread

dude why are you talking about yourself in the 3rd person
is this how you pick up chicks now??
and i agree his car ran perfect with that setup
man that blow off valve sure did scare that crazy b!tch in the integra
yet no 2003's have the reflash yet...it was just made available today. but as for the reflash for the eco...in theory it shoudl be the same as the 2.4 setup.but it seems gm is trying to make it harder by not being able to get the map sensor.

That's strange. I distinctly remember Borgs both claiming to be running the RSM reflash, and standing behind it fully.
More mistruths? Say it ain't so!

Well it depends on how the program adjusts fuel, does it use the map to determine boost pressure then add fuel accordingly, or does it add a static amount per rpm, i honestly cant tell you how either works

Actually neither did the map, injectors or the plugs.
