Manifold and MAP sensor for turbo
Tuesday, February 07, 2006 5:11 PM
Hi, I was wondering if I need the egr cut-out on the turbo manifold or not. I have a 2001 cavalier 2.4L. What if I don't have it? Can I do something without the cut-out.

Do I need to change the map sensor to make 8 psi on this engine?

You don't need the egr cut out.

You can get a 2 bar sensor, but you'll need to find somebody to get you the S/C reflash from the S/C kit for the 2.4L.

What if I already have it? Is it better to have the egr cut-out??

Can I put the 2 bar map sensor without the s/c reflash. I think I will need a AFPR and FMU if I don't get the reflash? Is that right?

No, unless the computer is programmed on how to understand a 2 bar map sensor, then you can't use it.

Yeah, you'd need an AFPR and FMU.
