carnage pics =(
Friday, January 27, 2006 9:44 AM
Well last week I just finished my topfeed conversion. Put in the spacer i had made, set the cartech and went for a spin. This was the end result. I was not intercooled, and was using a friends 24lb injectors. Im getting another motor this weekend with low miles, and wanting to run 30lb red tops will i need an safc to idle them? And yes this next set up WILL be intercooled. Enjoy the pictures...

look like a result of being lean?

I'm glad you are going intercooled. Yes that looks like the result of very lean AFR's. I would not do an SAFC for a boost project man. It's just a bad idea and you're only going to have more problems.

I use a cartech 2025, im just looking for somhing to idle bigger injectors. If i could run red tops with just a afpr and lower fuel pressure that would be great. But i dont know if it works that way. The safc would be just to run the bigger injectors out of boost. I'd let the cartech to the rest.

Ah ok I get where you are coming from. Looks like it'd be too much of a hassle to deal with both. I'd just megasquirt it, but that's your call

how would it be a hassle? guess im just familiar with the cartech. Megasquirt isnt for me, Just not interested. im Only looking for 4-6psi. The red tops seem like a good injector for this. But again lol i need to know if i can just idle them with just 22-25psi fuel pressure if i can get that low.

Ah i see. I figured you did the topfeed conversion to run a little more boost than that. Best of luck with your project man.

I don't see why not as long as your FPR is adjustable. What brand FPR do you have?

I think that motor has around 50,000 miles on it. I just cleaned off the top of pistons.
