I've always liked the Mb Quart mid tweet components. They handle really well at higher volumes without any distortion, but for the price they can be a bit expensive. However for a decent price and a decent set of components the Infinity kappa's are really good.
I agree on the about infinty kappa and mbquart statement, haveing tried both brands they are really good on low vocals and midbass/bass region. Anyone know of any offbrand speakers that produce good quality midbass/bass? I am seeing a serious lacking of 150hz and lower right now and dont want to spend the money on really expensive speakers like Dynaudio or Focal's.

^^what do you have them crossed over at?

I've got Phoenix Gold Octane 6.5's for my fronts. While they don't sound as nice as the Focals or Quarts I auditioned, they are a good bang for the buck. With components you might be able to see down to about 60-70 hz depending on your install, and speaker quality, but any lower than that and your gonna need subs.
For my install I've got my components HPF at 80hz and my sub LPF at 80hz, nothin, to my ear, sounds missing from the music. In your position I'd get some comps and amp em, see if you need more bass, then look into some subs..
