I have a pioneer DEH 7600 in the car, anyway i am wiring another amp into the system, i tried last night to pull out the stereo, I dont have the removal tools, they didn't come with the new deck, should have they?
Is there anyway for me to get this off? i need access to the back to put the rca's, and remote in...
any help would be appreciated.
thanks,
Kristen
i didnt know they had special tools to take out headunits my old pioneer required a screwdriver and some pulling? who knows that was 2 years ago

my Sony i had, just pulled out by hand....
i thought there was a couple of metal pcs that needed to be compressed in order to slide out...maybe not, I just tried by hand last night, maybe tonight i will try the screwdriver + pull trick??!!...
there are no specail tools, if this is in a your J then you have to take apart the dash, then the bezel, then the mounting harness, the the radio should just slide out-------> PINA!!!
I just did it two days ago for some freaken RCA's also

I have to take the dash apart for an aftermarket deck???
no. Pioneer's removal tools let you slide the deck out of the mounting sleeve. If you don't have the tools, look for two pieces of thin metal (1/16" thick or less) and not more than 1/4" wide. Basically take the trim ring off, and slide one in each release slot til it releases. Just the hard part is finding something that'll work. Sometimes, another make (SONY, JVC, etc..) will work too.
ok, so basically there is two clips i have to worry about on each side,
i actually have a small pc of sheet metal home, i can cut a couple of strips off,
i think that might work...
thanks CharlzO!
I plan on taking another trip to futureshop and see why i didn't receive one with my deck....(removal tool)
no prob. when you push the strips in, they release the holding clips in the sleeve. You may have to wiggle them around a little to make sure they get set. Basically, just pop them in and pull the deck out of the sleeve. Good luck! (and I wish I had known..I usually have like five pair lol)
unless they added a back strap to the deck
if they did the back strap youll need to pull the dash
if not do as said above
Or they iso mounted it. I have mine iso mounted to make it more difficult to steal. Well, I did anyway.....

well seemed alot easier than it actually was!!
couldn't get the thing out....
Yeah my dash kit is screwed in. Requires removing the dash.
Takes me like 5 minutes to do it now since i have done it so many times.
"all your bass are belong to us"
Drove to Futureshop, they happily removed this for me, well actually they pulled it out like an inch so in the next couple of days i can wire it up..
thanks,
