The rear speakers on our cars play through that cardboard carpet rear deck. Upon sitting back there i noticed the sound coming from them sounds muffled. I also discovered when i drop the rear seat my sub sounds louder. So would cutting large holes in the rear deck and using the grills that came with my speakers sound better? And as far as the sub goes would using a 4 inch port for sub boxes and placing in in the rear deck lid improve the sound inside the cabin?
Also... has anyone heard the new sony p5's with the turbo swoosh design?

i dunno about the newer P5's. I know the older ones kick a** in the J-bodies. Loud as hell if hooked up to the right amp, box size, and wired right.
Any idea on where to buy a sub box port besides online???????

I heard the new p5's are insane. I've only heard the 15" to go along with 2 12" older xplods and it was very nice. i'm getting 2 of the XS-L122P5's.
you'd have to check out car audio stores. Not many places other than that would carry ports in stock.
i cant believe any new sony audio product would be a good buy... their xplod line has gone to crap
I'm telling you, those Sony's can take a beating. My Sony had a accident with the shop outlet. It lasted 22 seconds before finally frying up. I have my Sony's in a sealed box. I feel that sealed will give you more of a hit, and be cleaner.
