I am currently running two Alpine MRD-M300 V-12 amps and two Alpine SWR-104D subs. Now, each sub is wired up in parallel and hooked up to one amplifier with a 2 ohm resistance. Now, I have two other Type R subs in my basement from when I was running only one amp, and then I bought new subs so that I could wire them up into a 2 ohm load. I am thinking that I could wire up 2 subs to each amplifier and run a four subwoofer setup. I am wondering if the change in resistance (to 3 ohm per amp), would have more detrimental effects than advantagous? Would I notice a difference for the better, or the worse by adding two more subs, but increasing my resistance to 3 ohms? What do you think?
