I ended up ordering the GM05 harness because i dont care about the chimes. I have one problem ,which i'm sure is easily solved i just wanted to check with someone.
The GM05 harness has some extra wires that the stereo does not have
coming out of it. Specifically, the harness has: dash light(orange) and
dimmer(orange). It also has a batter/12v constant(yellow) and the infamous red wire.
now i know that the red wire gets taped off and i have the fuse tap
thing for that, but does the 12v constant (yellow) get connected to
the yellow one on the harness?
I duno about cavs and suns but generall all the colors match.

your aftermarket deck might not have the orange dimmer/illumination if it doesnt no sweat dont use the ones on the harness just butt them and leave em.
the yellow off the harness does join the yellow off the deck,and like you said the ignition(red) has to be sourced out somewhere else.
