Audio Problem(Speaker cuts out intermittently)
Thursday, September 18, 2008 2:53 PM
I was driving home yesterday and my driver side speaker starts cutting out, basically I only have sound coming out of my passenger side speaker every few seconds. Then right before I get home, the sound cuts out completely, nothing not even from the subs. I get home and check fuses, they're good. Then I look at the ground for my speaker amp and it worked itself literally out of the hole, I've yet to find the screw.

Well, I put a bigger self-tapping screw in it's place and all seems well until today when it's doing the exact same thing except not quite as bad. About every ten seconds or so, the sound will shift from both speakers to the passenger side then a second or two later, cut back to how it should be. Anybody have any idea as to what could be wrong and what I could do about it? Here's my setup if it helps...

* Alpine CDA-9885 Deck
* Cyclone CA798 Amp
* (2) 12" MTX Thunder4500 Subs
* Metrik MAP-604 Amp
* Alpine SPR-17C 6.5" Speakers
* Kicker KS693 6x9 Speakers

where are you putting the ground? what size is the ground wire? are you tapping into a painted body panel?

you need more than one screw for your ground...at least 3. One in the middle and one on each side so that it doesnt move at all

Thanks whiteboy, I looked at my ground again and I had it in the wrong hole...

...You'll see my actual ground near the bottom. The hole at the top was where I had put it when it came off.
