Go over that again... what did you do?
Ok.. ummm i got them hooked in my dads tiny ass honda today lol.. to test them out, they hit pretty good... what i dont get, is its a 100.2 fosgate amp... how can they hit this good on 100 watts? And what i was wanting to know is if anyone knew the specs on the subs.. all i know is they say IMPP 400W on the front... a friend told me IMPPs are pioneers, but im not sure... the subs sound 1000X better than that.. the camera was overpowered i think, and has Shi**y audio anyway... so here it is.... hope this might help....

Ok... thats what most subs use.. im pretty sure... umm... you know of anyway to tell what kind of subs they are? RMS rating, that kind of thing?
"Hondas are like tampons, every pussy has one!!!"
..dude you used your amp from you "glass shattering" home theatre system in a honda...damn....oh and i like the 5 pages of pictures of cars on your myspace...too bad none of them are actually yours.
oh and as for the subs with bondo...throw those p.o.s things in the garbage, and go to walmart and buy some more.
1) the sunbird on my myspace is mine, i also have an 84 porsche 944.. long story as to how i got it, but feel free to ask, and tomarrow im getting an 88 grand am turbo (can post pics if you want).. as for the subs, i didnt buy them, they were free, wal-mart subs are crap, those hit, if i actually bought them i would know the specs and wouldnt be asking here, they were given to me free, in a box, with a 500 watt amp
"Hondas are like tampons, every pussy has one!!!"
buddy of mine has that porche. i stomped it with my 2.2. i wouldnt be proud to own one.

Well just because I am at work and really freaken bored that I will respond to this...
First of all NEVER EVER EVER put bondo on a speaker, not only does it change the weight of the cone and thus creating more work for the motor of the speaker and thus ruining the efficiency of the speaker. It's also very stupid. The only thing that you should put on a sub face or cone is glue or silicone.
Second of all your running two unknown subs on a Rockford amp and you come on this board and offer only a video of the subs playing in your car with only the magnets showing and ask us what kind of subs they are??? How in the hell are we suppose to know? There is a thing call the web, here's a
Link feel free to do some research on your own.
Third of all if your not going to make an effort to learn and understand car audio or for the fact of the matter any audio (from the other post) don't bother to post. Your setup in your car that is "hitting" or "banging" or what ever kids your age say (haha old joke) looks and sounds like crap. I think my computer sub hits harder then what you have setup. I guess the part where you have the camera on your cell phone to see it moving millimeters with the bass isn't something to be bragging about. If you cellphone and the contents of your car where flying around like they where inside one of those old money grab games I could see it "hitting".
Just as the countless times said on this board. Read learn what your hooking up and spend more then $20 for the bondo to fix a sub and maybe you could have something that resembles a stereo system.
Oh and for the record if you put any low rated sub on a 100 watt amp it's going to sound good. I mean low rated as in the subs can't handle/designed for less then 100 watts
But since you don't know or haven't posted the Ohm's of the subs nobody can tell if the amp is running stable. So more then likely your either going to blow those subs out (hopefully) or the amp.
Ok time to go outside for a smoke break, I am done.
Well, the porsche.. its decent... its more just my fun car... did the guy you raced have the turbod model? mine is the 944 turbo... anyway, onto the subs... im pretty sure theyre 4 ohm or dual 4 ohm subs... to me, it doesnt matter much if i ruin the amp or subs... as the subs were free, amp was free, then i also have 4 more 12s... MTX road thunder 2s, and some audiobahns... not sure what the ratings are on the audiobahns either...
"Hondas are like tampons, every pussy has one!!!"
man if you have mtx's or audiobahns... why the hell are you using your bondo brand subs... im not trying to be a dick or call you a liar but if i had a corvette, i wouldnt drive my cavalier (well besides in the winter or to get groceries
) anyways im just saying IF you have these other subs why are you using the ones that clearly blow more than a cheap prostitute and look about as good also.
lol and also i doubt they sound that good as i have 2 12's, infinities that are rated at 1250w on a fosgate 950w amp and most people on here still would out bass me. lol look to who i believe is called "groundpounder" or something if you want to see how its done.
Well, the MTXs are like an older road thunder... at 100 watts they start to get overpowered... they put out some nice sounding bass and all, and pretty well hit.. the audiobahns are OK at best with the 100 watt amp, but hit when my friend had em before me with a crunch 1000 watt on them... so i know the audiobahns are good... and the MTXs as long as you dont really exceed 100-150 watts... the bondod ones.. really the camera makes them sound like S*** but they were good... i mean, for being free, and had cracked cones that i bondod, im not complaining, im still going to use them, and im going to use the audiobahns and MTXs w/ them as well... i think all combinded theyll be decent... im not really trying to go to audio competitions or anything, all my system is going to be for, is to be able pretty much to hear me before i get to you lol... im not going for all out crazy complete comp. kind of stuff.. i was just kinda of waondering what the ratings were on these subs... just so id know what all i could do with them, the audiobahns i would like specs on too... i can get a pic if that would help... also with the MTXs too... is there anywhere maybe to get a model # from them so then i could look it up or something?
"Hondas are like tampons, every pussy has one!!!"
I had an old MTX 12" like your talking about back when I was a broke college student, and I blew the thing with a 300 watt (max) Jensen amp. They pretty much suck.
I have a full system in the car I have now, and I bought my subs off of someone too. I went to a nearby car audio place (thats all they do and they know what there talking about), and asked them what the subs where rated at and the guy knew off the top of his head. I need a new amp for my subs because the Best Buy idiots sold me one with way too low of an RMS rating, but I'm sure it's powerfull enough to power whatever you have, I'll be selling it once I get a new one so keep your eyes open.
As for Wal-Mart subs being crap.... guess what... my system is all Alpine and Infinity except for the subs. I have two 12" Sony sub-woofers in a 3 chambered bandpass, and last time I looked they sell them at Wal -Mart. Even with the underpowered amp hooked to them right now, I have it tuned in the meantime to where my stereo is ridiculously louder than yours. Even with them turned down so they wont clip and hurt the subs. So don't make generalizations like that. With the correct amp hooked to them (like my old one), they will vibrate my rear view mirror off when turned up.
As for the 944, or any of the cars for that matter... I KNOW you don't own them.. their your parents... how do I know this... YOUR 14, and no one under the age of 18 can legally have an automotive title in their name. Maybe your parents have some money and will give you one of them when you graduate, but till then their not yours. I'm 27 and my dad owns a really clean 86 Mustang with a 5.0 in it, and I drive it all the time, but It's still his car, and I don't ever claim it's mine even when I'm driving it.
Btw... I work at a company that makes windows... where actually making them for the new Freedom Tower as I type this, and part of my job is to actually break and dispose of glass, and I know from professional experience that the post about breaking windows in you house (the way you said it happened anyway), is a bunch of BS.
Basically... don't make rude comments or claim all kinds of crap.. If you have a question, or just want to show us something.. just do that and don't exaggerate. It's not that your so young that's the problem, most of us don't have a problem with that. It's the way your going about things that keeps getting you called out and flamed.
just get a truck, hook up a receiver and tow your house around, everyone will hear you coming in your window shattering domecile
Yea.. the MTX sounds good... ill give MTX that when they made them... but they dont take too much power...
Also, what kind of amp is it? RMS rating, peak watts, ect.? ill buy it if its a decent size...
The 944 is mine, and the sunbird, and the grand am... i guess if your talkin in legal terms, the tittles are in my dads name, but the sunbird i have torn apart, engine pulled, trans. pulled, interior pulled out, ect. ect. and am in the process of rebuilding, and the tittle will be signed over to me when i can.. and i thought u could get cars in your name at 16? since u can get your license at 16... anyway, not like it makes much difference, but im 15 right now.. 15 1/2 and able to get my permit in november.. as for the porsche.. i havent messed with it much... new water pump.. thats been it, im not trying to be mean about it or anything... but if the cars arent mine.. and they were my parents, then why would they let me tear them apart, rebuild them, customize them the way i want and all? i mean i give you from a legal stand point theyre his, but that all... legal standpoint...
"Hondas are like tampons, every pussy has one!!!"
because they're a pair of @!#$ty cars.who the hell would care if you tore up a sunbird. you say its a turbobird? good. i still wouldnt give you $50 for it. turbo 944? thats seriously the cavalier of german automobiles. you can tear them apart and do whatever you want to them because the cars are next to worthless.
car audio noob since 1984.
lol wow... pair... theres 3.. someone cant count...
"Hondas are like tampons, every pussy has one!!!"
David, wtf. Why post this garbage?
You can have the title of the car in your name, you need to jump through hoops to do so, but it can be yours. My girlfriend owned her car (title and all) at 15. She needed Non Driver State ID, and multiple forms of ID. It was not registered in her name, because that she needed to be of driving age for. Now that was several years ago, and things might have changed, but i know thats how it was in CT.
Your Subs are @!#$. End of story. It doesn't matter what they require, because they won't work well with them met. Hell, my subs have their requirements met and they still sound mediocre. Have you heard a good system? Clean, crisp highs? Tight lows? Don't pollute the air with crappy music quality and distortion. If i have to listen to one more douche with a crappy system drive by, i may loose it.
I hate to deture anyone from the board, as i myself am new here, and fairly young as a matter of fact, but please, be here to learn. If not leave. These guys have a lot of experience and are willing to help, but, if your a dumb ass, you will get raped by the
smiley, and flamed more than California in fire season.
Well... i guess ill try to get them in my name... never knew that...
The subs might be @!#$ to others, but i dont care, they can think what they want, ill think what i want.. those might last a little while... they really dont have that much distortion... i mean if your actually like there when theyre playing... but anyway, the audiobahns i have i will stand up for lol... theyre good, audiobahns have nothing wrong with them, audiobahns are actually more into the good sub category lol.. but the MTXs and the bondoed ones, i mean, theyre ok, ill admit nothing like the audiobahns, but im going to throw them in the trunk with the MTXs and audiobahns... all together i think theyll be ok, like i said before, im not going for all out crazy competition, earth shattering 200000000000 decible @!#$.. just something to be heard...
"Hondas are like tampons, every pussy has one!!!"
You will be heard. You will then be
MADE FUN OF.
Eh... I wasn't trying to be an ass or anything... It's just that something rubbed me the wrong way and I came off that way. Personally I like 944's, although they are bottom of the barrel for Porsche and I would have to hop it up for it to really be much fun for me to drive.
As far as repairing your subs... it's really never worth trying because it never works... if you just go to Wal-Mart and get some Sony 12's and power them correctly, they will sound better than what you have for not that much money. Going by the setup you have now... you would probably be happy with them until you can afford something better. To be honest.. how you design a system affects the quality as much or more than having big brand name stuff. I've gone all out with everything but my subs, because my subs I have now (the sony's), hit just as hard as a lot of other systems I've heard in the box there in when there powered correctly, and the quality is just as high... plus I personally don't need anything louder than what I have. You really don't need to spend 3 grand on a system for it to sound good if you know what your doing.
