distrobution block

hi there i want to make a distribution block for my interior lighting mods,
i was planning on having an 8 ga pos and neg to the block then having speaker like connectors to hook up all the lights, only problem is that i want a relay so that the lights only receive power when the ignition is on. i was just wondering if anyone knows how to wire such a relay or where i can find something pr made like this

Splice an appropiate relay in line with the power wire going to the junction block. Wire the activation wire for the relay to your ignition switch (or the fuse box at the appropiate terminal), and ground the relay wherever you see fit.

That way, your junction box will only have power going to it when the key is on.

A relay is just a power activated switch.

yea easy...

87 - 12volt
85 - ground
86 - ignition
30 - your block

remember the block needs a ground too......you dont really need the block tho...your making more work for yourself. Just use the realy with a switch so when you hit the switch the lights go out....

87 - 12volt
85 - switch
86 - 12volt
30- lights

this way you could turn your lights on anytime...car on or off....all at the flip of a switch....BTW the other end of the switch goes to ground or if you want it for ignition only just change 86 to ignition instead...
