Moonroof malfunction
Monday, May 14, 2007 11:00 AM
I have a 02 cav, 2.2 eco, two door. Recently my moonroof has been acting up. It is suppose to vent when i tap the button once and then slide back when i tap the button again. However, mine has recently decided to only open and close when it wants. The other day it took me about 5 minutes to get it closed. I was holding the button but it would slide a couple inches then stop then slide.......and so on. Just wondered if anyone else has had this problem. And if so how to fix it. I am not sure if it is a short in the wiring some where or if the motor is going bad or if it is something completely different.

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

That same happened to my passengers side window. Motor was dying. Got it replaced under warranty and its been working fine with no problems.

Well....my warrenty is long gone, so I was hoping to be able to find a way to fix it myself or find out if anyone knows where i can go besides the dealer to get it fixed without getting charged an arm and a leg.

If its a motor, maybe check a junkyard. Its easy to GET to, im not sure how easy a swap would be, doesnt look complicated.

However, something such as a window on top of the car, Id take it to a dealer, they'd know their cars the best, my dads sunroof leaked on his truck and he went to 2 different places before going to a dealer..

somethings a dealer is best for IMO...

just my $.02
