for a couple days now I've had a really bad rattle coming from my port side of my box. Thought someone else had just busted off behind the box nad there was nothing I could do. well started looking at it today and saw this.
Snapped off every screw that was used to hold the trim panel in place. Probably 8 or so lol (As soon as I touched it it pretty much fell off in my hand. .Now I gotta fasten it back on. )
FYI yes I know those screws are backed out a little holding the 2x4 onto the box. I started to take it off so I could get the screws out but decided to snap a pic.
drywall screws? that's your problem, lol

Don't use a fine thread bit, use something coarse.
those are coarse threaded screws. Ive used them in every box ive ever made and this is the first problem with them. .
What about pre drilling the hole, then dip the screw in resin, and put a drop down the hole.
Will never back out on you.

drywall screws aren't strong, shearing them off like that is common. use like a #8 exterior wood screw or something. drywall screws aren't made to have any force put to em, all they are for is holding light drywall to the wall, lol

or you could go buy a ZINK coated wood screws. i use them to build patio decks and those guys dont like to break. they will bend before they break. i would try that first. altho. bolts do decime all. hehe.
hmmm, you could use liquid nail and dowel pins. or you could use 3/8 bolts and nuts, or jb weld it!
