good luck on the port the only think i could ever think of is to get an inch by like a 1/4 inch thick pieced of a polished metal and line the port. drill it and screw it around the edges. never did it but it was about all i could think of.

And i wouldn't have vinyled that mdf later, you should have made a trimboard from some 1/4" (and fully wrapped it), then put it on over top the baffle you just made.

Can you remove it? Thats the way I would have done it as well, wrapped it around the inside of the port and underneath before I layed it down...And then painted the inside of the port, thats what most of us do when we build a box is paint the port
