Cabin Wiring Harness

Okay, So I have two cavaliers.
Both '97's.
One is a Z24, one is a RS.

The RS, we stripped, and put a roll cage in and whatever for the local dirt track. Well someone decided to be a smart guy and cut most of the wiring out of the car, so now the car will start, and then shut itself back off again like the security system is kicking it off. Now When the guy cut the wires out of the car, he cut what I THINK is the security box out. I can keep the car running, by turning the key on, and disabling the start once it's actually running( keeping current flowing through the system). Now, I'm assuming that I can just replace the entire cabin harness and just be good to go.

My question is, can I take the gauge cluster and cabin harness out of the Z24, and put them both in the RS and have them be compatible? I'm pretty positive the harness is all the same, but the cluster is what worries me.

Can anyone help??

As long as they are the same like auto/manual and such, it should be fine.

They're the same car.

Yeah, they're both manuals.

The only difference is that the RS didn't have a tach, and my Z does. Still think it'll work?

Yep, should.
I think that is something peeps with cavs do is switch out clusters for ones with the tach.
Keep in mind you might have to do the passlock relearn...

1. Attempt to start the vehicle, then leave the ignition ON. The THEFT SYSTEM light telltale will flash for 10 minutes.

2. When the THEFT SYSTEM telltale stops flashing, start the vehicle. Once the vehicle is running, the password is learned.
