led's wired with dome light

i know something like this has been talked about before, but i searched and couldnt find anything...maybe im an idiot idk lol.

...here's the deal. when i open my door, my dome light comes on, just like any other car. i want to put a couple led's under my door so when i open my door, they come on n i got a little light up under there. i know i can just wire it to the dome light, but there has got to be a better way. how could i wire these up in the kickpanel or somewhere a little closer to the door?

any help would be appreciated. thanx

Tap off fuse box if there's a fuse for the dome light.

or he could just use his door pin switch to activate the ground on whatever light he uses. that seams easier. and there shorter runs of wireing also.

just run the positive wire to a always hott wire. then splice your ground wire in to the side of the pin sweitch that goes to ground when you open the door. and POOF your lights should be on.lol.

ya, you could do that, or if you want it to turn on and off with the dome (like the delayed turnoff) you could always use a relay. I have my cathodes wired w/ the dome and relay, and extra cathodes in the door pockets that only turn on when the door is opened.
