Ok heres my setup:
Sirius InV tuner, playing through built in fm modulator
stock 2005 radio
Ma Audio 2,000 watt amp
2- 10" Infinity reference subs in sealed enclosure
streetwires wiring
4 gauge power ground cables
audio pipe LOC
now heres the problem, when i have a cd on and amp turned on for the subs the system is static free but when i have the FM on or sat radio and subs on i have alot of static feedback in the speakers, turn the switch for the amp off and it goes completely away???
this is bothering me have any idea what would be cause this?
I have a switch placed in the stock location(fog light switch area), one end goes to amp turn on on amp and other end goes the radio harness and is tapped into the gray wire. which i believe is the ignition + wire, and LOC is tapped into rear speakers at head unit harness.

Mods if this is in the wrong forum please move to right one thanks.

Maybe your antenna is picking up frequencies given off by the amp?

No sir, I'm not even sure if I'm right or not. If it's a frequency given off by the amp that it's picking up on, then I can't see a way around it other than turning off the amp, maybe someone with more experience can give you a more definite answer.

try removing the fm modulator aqnd see if the amp affects the fm radio ' some modulators are sensitive to rf pick up
the modulator is built into the sirius tuner and with that off it fine i believe or atleast not as noticeable

I thoucht that might be the case, the FCC required the newer sat radios to change the modulators built in because they were transmitting too far (ie outside the car). the only way We have found to cure this is direct input modulator (plugs in to the ant port or direct wire input
