Hi,
Presently I have an Alpine head unit pushing 60 watts x 4...peak.
My question is, will it be enough power to push a set of components (Rockford Fosgate or Pioneer Premier) 5.25" inch with separate tweeters. I just don't feel like buying/pluging another amp just to power these components. All I want is a better cleaner sound in front. Would it be worth it without running them from an amp or should I just keep my Pioneers 6.5" in front?
Thank you for your input!
no....your 60 watts is prolly around 15 or so rms which is way way to low to run a set of components ecently..get a small amp and call it a day..phil
x2 i ran my memphis components for about 2 weeks non amped and they sounded ok. but once i amped them it got a WHOLE lot better. do it right the first time and make sure you buy an amp. you wont regret it one bit
All right!!! Thanks a lot guys! I just run into a good bargain on a 300 watt Pioneer 2 way amplifier, that pushes 45 watts RMS x 2 @ 4 ohms . I guess this will be alot better than just my Alpine head unit.
Thanks guys!
My brother has a set of Alpine s type componets in the front of his Cavy and they sound great..The doors have been Matted also..You can do it if you wish..Depending on which Alpine head you have some are very good output and close to what they state on the deck..Try it first if you dont like the sound go buy the amp..
