Hey all ,
Just woundering if anyone has come acorss a place of a swap to upgrade a turnsignal flasher in a 96 Cavalier .
I have turn signal mirrors and led bulbs on my car and I have had no luck finding a Electronic flasher (Heavy Load) 6 pin flasher .
Thanks for your time

Transform... and Burn Out
maybe not 6 pin but i know advance auto has heavy load ones
and most people dont have to upgrade thier flasher in order to use led mirrors
worst comes to worst jsut use a relay after the flasher

I may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
The LED's are so low draw that you don't need either.
They will work just fine.
Now if there's a 6 pin flasher for LED direct replacement bulbs...... I gotta write myself a note to call the GM dealer and see if ones from a newer Caddy (w/ LED tails) are 6 pin...
sorry it is a five pin flasher , and i know the leds should draw less power ; but maybe it is because my my mirrors are extra lamps .
I saw on the flasher itself that it was a four lamp flasher .
Also I took a look on my dads 03 gmc truck but i dont see a location for his flasher .
I know a truck one will work seeing as it can also run trailer lamps.

Ok... I need to learn to read. I thought I originally read upgrading the flasher only for the LED mirrors
I'll give the Caddy dealer a call tomorrow and see if theirs will work...
The ones needed have added resistance due to the lower draw of the LED bulbs.
I don't feel safe w/ the splice-in load resistors I have now...
Didn't have the # for the Caddy dealer, so called the Chev dealer I get all my parts from... they couldn't tell running the part # a 2001 Caddy DeVille flasher was 5 pin...
Still checking, though.
Called the Caddy dealer.
No luck.
According to the parts guy, the Caddy's that have LED tails factory don't have turn signal flashers, so the components are apparently built into the turn lever, or some type of timer circuit is used.
I'll look into converting to a 3 pin LED flasher instead of the 5 pin... That will take a bit though.
At this point, even though I'm against it, use load resistors from superbrightleds.com, just be sure not to mount them to anything plastic or near the fuel system (excessive heat may = fire hazard).
