Im thinking Mb Quarts RVF213. also i have infinty kappa 6x9's in the rear.
THANKS
I frogot to mention i want to stay around about 150. And can i get them on ebay. beacuse i have some money in my papal account and dont want to wait weeks for a check.
to be honest, best thing u can do is go to a local store and use their sound wall to find what you like best. i myslef like JL but some don't. It's all about taste

I may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
Dont buy from a local shop!! much cheaper online. but yes listen to what they have and get an idea. Two highly regarded components are Crystal Mobile Sound sscs-6 6.5s and rainbow SLCs. The rainbows will run you 250 shipped though. the crystals will run you 160+shipping. Also lots of people like type r's, but they have a big mounting depth(like 4+ inches).
yea sorry i forgot to put that in the post....listen at the local shop, then buy somewhere cheaper

ummm Randy, not to sound mean or condescending, but are you simply speaking of word of mouth or actual experience?
anywho... what is considered "good" to you may be different for others. what kind of power will you be sending them? for a good all around clean, clear, and just great sound in your price range it is hard for me not to steer you twords CDT CL-61's go to Woofersetc.com and find right on their front page the free T dealer as well,so you will get full factory warranty and all of their products are available through them.
other than that, in the 150$ price range i would say alpine type-r's are a safe choice usualy, but im just not a huge fan of them, my ears personaly prefer other options.
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

I just bought a 20 inch widescreen ultrasharp flat pannel..I'm going to have to subscribe to the high quality porn places now......damn
eww.. sound walls.....
Tryout CDT, Ed, Alpine Type R's.... I guarentee the Compenents in your price range from either of these 3 companies will put a giant smile on your face.
My Cav
I give up...
i'm buying a VW those people love trees, so they should love eachother too... "Andy"
oh yeah, almost forgot, best bang for the buck, i would go for the eD 6000's, with the forum discount theyre cheap as hell too, if you are trying to spend more around 150, like i said, look into CDT... the ONLY thing i got against Type-Rs is they seem to try too hard to sound smooth and natural... well some people might like it, i find them a bit muddier than CDT and just too soft going for my ears

JLaudiocavalier: No I have not heard them. I am just telling him what I have heard thousands of times being praised.
I actually ordered a set of the crystals myself. Haven't gotten them yet.
Just letting him know what ALOT of people are recommending.
But yes, I'll 1000% agree with you, its pretty gay to recommend speakers you havent heard. I was just pointing out what I keep reading.
And I tried to word it like I haven't heard the speakers before, with the words i chose, so he knew I was just telling him what i read and not by experience.
Me myself I like the fosgate component sets. I had a set of punch 5-1/4 and was really happy with them. They palyed 10 years not a problem and are still playing. They seemed to be very clear. I recently bought a set of the pro 5-1/4 components and are very happy with them. Very clear and very well built. I bought the pro's off of www.hookedontronics.com $200.00 ship and all. They came in brand new in box but, now the things I have read is that if you buy fosgate on interenet from a non-autherized retailer you have no warranty. But, they are $290.00 plus tax at local stereo shop so, I figure when these go out I can spned a extra $100.00 and get a new set. I am from the 80's time were big names were alpine and fosgate and stinger. I guess it is just hard for me to change my ways now. i am sure some of the new companys make great stuff that may even be better than fosgate but, have used fosgate for years and probably won't never change.
yeah, a lot of people remember times when some names were at the top of the game... rockford has fallen a long way since they were at the top of the game IMO... there are a lot of other brands like that as well, not to just pick on them...but as far as over all performance of component speakers... we all are going to go based on what we know, and what our ears have liked best, ad some of us have had more experience with more speakers than others... James says RF(although i realy lost my RF love in recent years), as far as your price range me and short hand seem to be on the same page(although if u want to penny up around 300-500 bucks or more i can recomend other areas to look

, and i bet sndsgood is going to say how awesome the off axis response of MB Quart's are.. you realy gotta go listen to some speakers and decide what u like... one more little hint though...the type of tweeter and where you place them will be crucial! if u like sharp, precice, piercing highs, look for comp sets with metal dome tweeters (alum, titanium), if u want softer, more easy on the ears, more natural highs, look into soft dome tweeters(silk). and make sure to position them where they work best for you, 2 sided tape on the back of the tweets and moving them around is a good way to experiment before drilling into your car.

CDT/ED tweeters are pretty bright. The mb quarts you were thinking about are very harsh to the point of being kinda fatiguing. Like JL said the tweeter is going to be very important, so if you could go listen to some different types somewhere this would be best. The alpine type X component set has a very smooth vifa ring radiator tweeter in it that is absolutely beautiful, you can pick them up for around 200 on ebay.. It is the same tweeter that is used in the 500 dollar polk audio sr6500 component set that was awarded top component set of last year along with some morel elates and seas lotus components (3 way tie, how gay is that).
Im going to assume tohash means too harsh, but then again i just feel like picking on you i guess lol

I wouldnt say bright. It kinda depends on the set aswell.
The 1" tweeter offering from CDT, or what we offer with our 6500s set is more a warm sound.
Ive heard people say the 3/4" tweeter from the cl-61s is a metal dome tweeter, when it was the silk tweeter.
I talked to a customer looking into the edi 6500s, he currently owns the Alpine Type X and he said it was way too harsh for him. The tweeter offers attenuation up to -12 Db or something. So im guessing they knew it was possible that some people wouldnt like them that high.
It also has alot to do with install, but im guessing this guy knows what he is doing, he owns Alpine F1 status HU.
And I havent heard them myself, so i cant make a fair comparison.

Gonna have to disagree with you there. RF is better then ever right now. Go pick you up a T3000 and you won't be saying that a week from now. Just seen a birthsheet of a new 800.4...over 1250 watts, how can you complain??

i havnt gotten to test any new rockford gear, but i remember when this stuff hit ces this last year there was a huge talk about the turnaround the company did, how they hired several people from back in the ole days and how they are starting to make gear like they used to. and the talk was coming from allot of the big names in the business.
