they are great and all but i just called to get 2 of my se's re-coned (i need all 4 re-coned) and for me to send them to re for the recone and new basket's is goin to cost $770. 100 to ship each way (200 totle), $450 for the recones ($112.50 each), and 120 for new basket's (30 each).
so for 4 sub's to get re-coned it's goin to cost more then i got them for new and shiped to my house.

While we dont offer anything at this time that can take the beating of a 3" coiled speaker, other than the Spv.2, 16ov2 and 19ov2. Nothing in a 12" or lower. We are hoping to have something eventually. The 13Av.2 will be our new high power handling, high excursion driver. But we are looking around Christmas time for that.

just make sure they will accept it usps before you send it out.
Alot of companies wont accept returns from usps, becuase if its damaged more by usps. they dont really take care of anything.

You're not the only person who'se thought about dropping (or has completely walked away from) RE. Guys north of the border can't get recones (they're having to get Atomic recones instead), and some guys still haven't gotten products that they've bought and paid for at the BEGINNING of the season.
Based on what friends have gone through this season, NOTHING that says RE on it will ever touch my vehicles.
But if you're looking for alternatives, you can always look into Digital Designs and Atomic

how long have you had your subs?
if you decide to try a different sub... look for a memphis dealer near you. the subs come with a 3 year warranty. if you blow one, just take it to the shop and they will switch out the cartridge and you are on your way
mark you know what i have in my car now. and the other runner in that competition was the atomics. i just happened to get a deal on some DDs
the subs i have now i had for a long @ss time since the first group buy in 02 or 03 i got all 4 shiped to my house for $520. they are great produst's but in the last year re-cones went from $20 to $60 and now 112.50. even if i do the recones myself im goin to pay 450 plus shipin.
now im lookin into some soundstream 12's or 15's since im goin to get a pca3500D. its whatever i get a deal on. i might look into ED but im not sure yet if i can get what i want out of them.
bah, RE products cost way to much up north now. Ed the local RE distributor has gotten to @!#$ greedy, our shop has sold... 0 YES ZERO RE products this season, WHY ? cost. We get people into test vehicles, let them hear it, they look happy until we show them the price on a single SX... rediculous. To make matters worse, Ed (US AMps/ RE DIstro) forced the other distributor out of buisness......
RE no longer has my buisness, and hasn't since the start of this year.

Why not get another cone/spider setup? Alot of other speakers share that basket/motor setup, and will cost you a lot less.

Thanks for the inquiry. The Q12 is night and day different from them SE12s. They handle quite a bit more power, are significantly cleaner, and will produce more output. Several people have recently swapped the Q in for their older XXX subs and noted similar sound quality with increased overall output. Compared to $700 for some recones... an extra $300 for the 4 Qs is a MAJOR upgrade.

As for you, I'd want the 2 18" BTL's, but I think 4 12"q's would be a better buy.
