Sorry for the double post, but how hard would it be to have the amp set into the floor of the trunk?, so it is level with the surface, What if I want to put like plexiglass over it, how much work is involved with either of these ideas?
hmmm i would say just do a false flood, with a cutout over the amp with the plexiglass layed into it...i dunno why but one thing i see people do with false floors that i like best with false floors is doing the cutout the exact shape and size of the amp and make the false floor sit at the right height so the bare amp(no plexi or anything over it) sits flush with the floor... i dunno i just think that looks cool, hey if you feel like a road trip and wanna drive to Maine, that wouldnt be an issue... only problem being... my garrage is 2.5 hours from the border at Portsmouth lol

So are there diagrams or measurements for false floors at all out there? I would rather have it flish with the floor, no glass.

JD hasnt gotten back to you with a price yet? are u going ported or sealed? if ur going ported, dont EVER be scared to go too low on those subs.... with a nice front stage, you will be amazed at the performance of those eD's in a built to specs ported box down around 28hz
AND....the false floor just find u a bunch of cardboard to make a template... just do it piece by piece... tape it together,.. test fit it, and when it fits perfect, cut it outa wood.. then figure just how flush u want the amp or how much u want it recessed, or protruding...then that will determine how high u mount the false floor....man i wish i could be part of this install

Hehe, i'm going ported on the enclosure, but JD said that it would be at around 38Hz. He said 128+shipping so I wasn't gonna paypal like 140 and hope it covers it lol. Yeah i'll have to read up more on the false floor, and get ahold of some nice quality wood. Does the false floor go right into the spare tire well?
It's like he meant that the Hrz can only be 38hz, He didn't say it could go lower or higher, just that thats what it will be.
a lil high for my taste. hey hit me up on AIM asap, im not on a lot, usualy late (like right now, 1am).... i personaly would want the subs tuned down around 28-33, and a nice set of comps up front........38 will sound fine, and get plenty loud of course, but i realy like my sub boxes tuned low... im more musical than spl... output means jack to me if i cant have a clear clean "like im there" experience with my music

Still no word on the box bieng made, but I did get my orion d2400. I am really pissed off at UPS though.
I get home from work about 12pm, and everything else has been delivered between 2-5, but this time, one of the more expensive items, comes before I get home from work. So I pull into the driveway, and the box is sitting in an obvious, if not the most obvious part of my steps. A big ass box, with $350 worth of electronics in it, on my front doorstep, in a semi-decent, assholish neighbor neighborhood.
Anyway, I'll make a thread when i get it built and setup, still tryign to find info on a false floor for the amp.
1/2 MDF from home depot in big azz sheets, cheap.... get some cardboard, mock it all up, trim it till its perfect, then use ur cardboard template to cut the MDF, trim and sand the edgest till it fits perfect, some 3M adhesive and carpet, DONE, make sure when u do the mock ups and final product you do them at the height that the floor will sit. UPS and Fed Ex are strange sometimes... they wouldnt drop of my $80 Cadence speakers on my door step (i live in the damn woods and leave my keys in the car, theres so little chance of crime), but they left over $300 worth of drum cases in my OPENED garrage with a big note on the door teling where they left it...AND UPS did the same thing with my exhaust... $250 exhaust in a 5 1/2 foot tall box sitting on the front step... but a 1 foot by 1 foot by 6 inch box with a pair of $80 speakers I had to sign for.....I don't get it.

I have to sign for everything if its fed-ex but i'll be damn i think ups just slows down to about 15mph and chunks it towards the vicinity of the door. Looking like its gonna be a NICE setup! Really wanna see pics when its done.

if i remember correctly, JD is the only one working for JD and he does have lot's of orders... you can be assured you get a quality box from a man who knows what hes doing... but time may be a lil longer than just ordering a prefab from a big company... wont be too long though man.

Yeah, I actually just checked my e-mail, and I sent the money, so he is going to start building it. Found out he only lives 45 minutes away, but shipping it one day is cheaper than the gas to get there
. I can't wait either, and i'm going to Home Depot to get some stuff for the false floor.
