Aftermarket Door Actuator Malfunction?
Saturday, December 31, 2005 10:45 AM
I recently just got a Viper 2-way 771XV remote start alarm installed. and i love it. i purchased it at best buy and (i know i know) let them install it. I can wire speakers and amps and stuff of that sort. but i didnt want to get into the headache of a remote start. Also, i wanted to warranty and it was a free install. However, i knew something was going to need fixing.

I had manual door locks, so they installed actuators. The alarm and remote start work perfectly, but the passenger door actuator makes a loud buzzing/clicking noise when i unlock it. The weird thing is, it only happens sometimes. yesterday morning it was fine, no noises. and then last night it was making the noise again. now today its fine. It still locks and unlock, it just makes that loud noise. I took the door panel off and took a look at it and cant find out what it could be,

I'm going to take it back to best buy and have them fix it, but im out of town with my car.

Any ideas of what it could be? Thanks for your help in advance
