I was wondering how much you guys spend to get ur audio systems up to what ur happy with...so far im like at...over 2 grand...prolly $2500 CDN into my cars audio...and im not quite done, but i was wondering how much some of the people with 'better' systems on here spend to get it to what they consider a "good" system

you want to bump, then they will bump and hit real hard and a lot good.
LOL
Just for the audio portion of my last install I spent close to $2800 US, add to that computer, video and lighting... I think about $4600. I've just started on my Cavalier

180 for hu, 250 for new hu, 200 for two subs (only using one), 100 for amp (possibly getting another), 200ish on replacing stock speakers... thats close to 1000... more that i thought when starting this... wow...
but then again, im obviously not going all out...
Well, if we are talking all the money I've spent over time with testing boxes, new subs, new amps, a couple of cars, new parts for those cars, WAY, WAY more then I even want to know.

The system has arrived.
head unit - 280
4x6s and 6x9s - 90
2 subs - 160
amp - 300
6.5 components - 300
amp - 130
free box, free labor (me)
well whats that..... $1260?
ouch..
too damn much....but it was worth every bit of it
^ damn right worth every bit
My stereo cost more than my car did, and I paid 2600 for the car. If you add in the cost of the amp rack, sub box, door pods, and labor, better than 5 grand. Then it gets stolen!!! So now I'm slowly putting it all back in.

and I know I could have built the system for less, but I like going to the same place and getting the same guys to work on it
However, it sounds great! Some systems play music. Mine grabs you, surrounds you with sound and makes you a PART of the music!
jason are those the 03 comp vrs? or the new 05s?

I agree completely...I have put headunits into 3 different vehicles, on the 2nd one in the Cavi because the Alpine took a crap. Blew and never went back to Audiobahn subz and got stupid and sold my three alpine 10s because they were 2 loud for my taste
if it ain't broke...MAKE IT GO FASTER
more than most peoples cars are worth, including mine.
about 7-9K. Love every bit of it.
