I installed the AEM cold air intake in my 2004 Cavalier 3 days ago but just recently, earlier today my car would not start but as soon as i poped the hood my car would start
i know its something electricaly related because my deck keeps on reseting. do you guys have any idea what the problem could be? thanks
Make sure power and ground are tight on the battery. Also make sure you remembered to plug the sensor into the new intake. When you say it won't start do you mean it cranks but won't turn over? Won't crank? do the dash lights work?

i mean nothing in the car has power...but as soon as i pop the hood everything works.. i checked the battery terminals, ill check if the intake is grounding the battery tomorrow.. any more ideas?
i thought that the intake was made of alluminum though?
sounds like a loose battery terminal or something. make sure all your electrical wires are snug and stuff

diff. intakes r made of diff. things i had one before that im pretty sure was aluminum it still sparked when it hit the battery hell if i know it was a cheap ebay one i wrapped black tape around where it hit i never had any problem i just seen it spark a time or 2
I checked everything that i did i just forgot to tighten up the power wire to the fuse box under the hood.. thanks for the help

. I was gonna say maybe its do to a mercury switch on the fritz on your hood from an alarm system ? but obviously not
