I have been looking around and all of the real hardcore audio sites are saying to give each Type R 12" a MRD-1005 a peice... but would that really be needed just to not underpower.. or is that to get 2kw out of the pair.. I dont know If I need that much power.. I want 2 12" Type Rs.. and want to go with alpine amps, but not sure if I need this much power
Any Suggestions ?

Thats good to know.. I may go that route, but im afriad if I have a 3000 watt system.. I know ill want the power when im out and hanging out, but just driving home from work.. will it still sound good not turned up loud.. Im sure if the gain is right it will be ok.. just dont want to underpower them to where they arent getting enough excursion.. idk , I hope It works at any level, if so ill go with all th power
I had a JL 1000/1 and a 12W7 and it sounded awful.. I think was because of my crappy box so it sounded bad, but it was just slightly less then the level of bass im looking for with 2 type rs

underpowering them isn't gonna hurt them. your gains should be set properly anyways.
