I got the guys at circuit city working on my car. I have the python 881XP car alarm. I bought the 529T module to control my sunroof via keychain.
a few days ago, after they put the module in (half way..) the next morning my battery was dead. so they removed it for a few days to keep it from killing my battery... and tonight they worked on it again.
The sunroof automatically closes with I arm the alarm. They can't seem to figure out how to make it OPEN from the keychain. he thinks it has something to do with having to press the sunroof button twice to open it. (first = vent, 2nd = open all the way)
I was hoping there was someone on this board that could help us out.. I'm getting really tired of them working on my car for the past month...
*also, on a related note ... when I "remote start" my car from the keychain, the ICON on the keychain stays active until the next time I arm the alarm. (the icon is supposed to turn off when you turn the key to "on" and hit the brake, right?)
thanks for any help guys..

so when you arm it, it close, and when you disarm it, it opens???
even if its raining or snowing???? lol!!!
so you have to rush into your car to close the sunroof before you interior get all wet!
no, it automatically closes when you arm the alarm. just like your doors automatically lock, etc.
you press a special button combination to open your sunroof. like you press a certain button combo to open your trunk or start the car.
it doesn't automatically open when you disarm the alarm, or start it, that's something you have to manually enter from the remote.
having it automatically close when you arm the alarm is just a nice feature to have. i've always hated sitting at my destination for that extra x amount of seconds holding the close button.. so I've gotten used to closing it before I get to my destination.. which is still annoying hehe..
anyone have anymore information? last night the guy said he thought he installed it properly, and had to put a diode somewhere... but my battery was still dead this morning...

I have this exact module on my car, and all I know is the shop said they had to be very creative to get it to work. I wish I could tell you exactly what they did, but I haven't looked at it. It is possible, I have a 99, if they can't get it, I'd ask another place before you take it there if they can do it. I'm up in Canada and a guy at A&B sound did it for me, but I think they just recently went under or else I'd go ask...
I just did this in my 2000 cavalier last week I will try to give you the best directions I can, it may be different on a 04. First of the motor side 1 will be to open the sunroof and motor side 2 will be to close. All the connections must be done after the sunroof switch on the roof and before the sunroof motor. I did mine on the motor side of a connector that is about 6in from the motor that is part of the motor so later on if I had problems I could just replace the motor and all wiring that I had done was gone. The most important part is the connections have to be after the switch and control box (Close to motor). It sounds like they wired it in before the control box. After that it sounds like they have everything else right. You need to see what kind of output your alarm has it needs to be a momentary output not a latched. Let me know if need more info.

The lcd keychain problem-It sounds like it isit programed right, because you are right it's suppost to go away in a cuple secs, they probly set it to stay one.
also when you remote start it,does it say on the remote it's started but you go out and the lights are on,on the dash.
now the sunroof probly, see if they installed a relay in they might of got the pins mixed up

not sure exactly what you mean.. when I start it, it says on the remote that it's started, and the parking lights flash once every so often like it should. the keychain just doesnt' turn off like it should..

they did not use a relay, should they have used one?
