Ok everyone i have built a custom fiberglass box that takes the place of my back seat. I covered it in foam and then black vinyl. After i covered it i put my 12" l7 in there and then tested it out and i blew up the back of the box. Does anyone have suggestions on my next box, how think should the fleece be and how many layers.

Just so I know, you only used fleece? Use several layers of chop matt and cloth. Fleece and resin is brittle and should be used only as a form.

If you can't stand on the enclosure without it buckling, keep building it up.

I saw pics of an enclosure for an F-Body that was used as a jackstand for a Corsica to illustrate just how strong it was, so it is possible.

how thick was your box? generally i say go 1/4" on curves and 1/2" on flat spots, this is actually thicker then needed but i tend to overbuild my fiberglass projects, i can stand on my kickpods without any issues whatsoever. also may want to consider some bracing to help sturdy things up.

hard to tell from that pic, but that fiberglass does seem a bit thin. i'd just pull that one out and redo the back and thicken it up as you go.
