well i am stuck with nothing but ideas. well i have a dilemma on what to run because of airspace in my trunk. well i have airride and i want a hard hitting system. not some cheap sounds ok type stuff i want something that sounds good and hits really hard, but i have a 5 gallon tank in my trunk now. i really dont know what to get and remember i dont have a whole lot of airspace. but if i have to i will put my airride stuff in my back seat and customize something. but back on topic what are you running( what sub, subs amp, sealed or ported, and what are the specs on your abox cubic ft.) and if you have pics that would bet wonderful.
thanks
depends on if you still want any useable space left in your trunk for storage after everything is in. If so, you'd be looking at probably a single sub setup. The box I have in my trunk is about 1 cubic foot per sub and there's still room for golf clubs, or a large abg (check out my cardomain page for the pics i have of the box in the trunk - just bear in mind that the pics haven't been updated in forever).
Obviously, you'd need to see how much power you want it to have, and all that.
A proted box generally will be louder at certain frequencies, so if you only play one type of music and it's tuned for that range, it'll be loud. But other songs won't be as loud. Sealed tends to be more versatile through a wider range, but usually will take more power to get as loud as those "certain" freqs in a ported box. Also, a ported box usually needs to be a larger size for the same sub (i.e. the sub may call for a 1 cubic foot sealed box, but maybe a 2 cubic foot ported box). A lot of factors are gonna be based on what kinda sub you end up going with.
if u listen to rap, hip-hop, or anything where real low sustaining sounds are wanted, i would go ported, if u listen to something like rock, punk, techno, stuff where lots of kick and fast response is wanted i would do sealed. Personaly for all around good sound that will be good for most music styles, i would recomend 2 10s ported with tons of power. i would do dual Type R's personaly cuz those alpine subs ALWAYS sound great. its all about personal preference and what kinda sound ur going for and what kinda music you listen to realy.
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

i had lots of toys when i was young.slinky,etc.but once i found my penis, that was all she wrote
i listen to mostly rap. but i occasionaly listen to others. but i want to push alot or power with such little space. and about extra room in the trunk im not worried about. actually i dont want extra space. im looking into the new xxx subs and th L7's. i know i wont be able to fit alot in there. but ill fit what i can because it will be a custom box and i will be building it inside the trunk. i want to be able to hit atleat 143 or more.
If you dont mind losing your back seat build the box there and if you want hard hitting subs DD hands down. But your going to have to give them a good amount of power. But if all you want to hit is 143 i have a single brahma 12 with about 1000w going to it and i'm hitting 145. 1.35 cuft box tuned at 30hz the box takes up most of my trunk. 16.5"h x 26"w x 27"d I still have a little space on the side of the box . I'll see if i can load some pics tommorrow.
Another option is build the box in the back seat with a couple of 12s. take some measurements let us know what space you have left.
i said atleast 143 beacause of my room but im really headed towards a 150.
