running two amps...help

hay guys, im having problems running 2 amps in my ride. ill tell you what i have then tell you how i have it ran.

1 Sony xplod head unit
2 12" audioban SE DVC subs
2 760w pioneer 2 ch amps
1 1f cap
1 matrix line driver
3 sets of monster rca cables
2 distribution blocks

i have the subs in a sealed box, custom made, 1 amp bridged per sub wired parallel, i have the line driver running to the amps how the instructions says too, i have my power and ground running to the cap like it says, off the cap they go into the the dis blocks split off to the amps

when i was running only one amp it worked great, hit hard, but now hits then shut down the hole system for about a second or two then comes back on or fry the fuse on the power wire, Ive done every thing i know to do, any suggestions....

I've set up a couple dual amplifier systems in my cavalier (1 4-channel amp for interior speakers and 1 1 or 2 channel amp for subs) and all I ever used was an 8 gauge wire, 60 amp fuse, a distribution block for the power, and ran the ground wires in parallel. Worked fine up until I installed the cap. Then my system started cutting out when the bass hit or when the engine wasnt running at a high RPM (2500+). It probably was an alternator problem or "the big 3" but it worked just fine before the cap. (I was running 950w altogether)

You may have too much draw for the fuse, in which case, you can either get a bigger fuse, or dump one of the amps. As for the entire system cutting out, sounds just like my problem. Even after removing the capacitor, it still cut out, so I never found the reason before I traded my cavalier.

Well I am sure you already did this too but make sure your not shorting out someplace on the second amp. If you were running fine with the first amp maybe there is a short on the second amp... Power wires, ground wires all the way through to the speaker wires. I know in mine I had a spot where the insulation was cut to my power wire and every once in a while when the base hit it shorted out.... Its worth a double check.

since its only a one farad cap you dont need to run it through a distribution block you can run it straight to the amp you only need to fuse the cap on the lead from your positive battery post then from there its all money.

thanks guys but i have the distribution block to split the power between two amps and like dude said above it works when the rpm's are up around 2500

Too much draw for the fuse should simply pop the fuse.
I'm running 2 amps in my cav, and have never had any problems. Check your grounds. Try using the process of elimination to hone in on the problem. You could try hooking both your amps up without the cap. If everything works great, then you've got a faulty cap. Do the same with your line driver. I'm guessing that your cap is wonky, but it's hard to tell through a computer screen. It also doesn't hurt to upgrade the big 3 when playing with lots of power.
Good luck, and let us know what you find out.
