Hey guys, I bought a portable dvd player a couple of months ago and i was wondering, how could i install it into the back of my headunit so that the sound would play through the car speakers? Any advice would help. Thanks.

stock HU? what does that mean? anyways, if you have an aftermarket stereo, some of them have a line-in for things like that. if you are running your stock head unit or a radio that doesn't have line in, you can buy an fm moduator to have sound for your dvd player, or a portable mp3 player.

sry, for not clarifying what i have. My headunit is a pioneer, not the stock unit that came with the car. I notice i only have output on the back of the headunit for say an amp. So, i would need to get an fm modulator to hook up the dvd player. How would this work, when i turn on the dvd player it would work with the headunit in sound, but i can still play cd's through the headunit, right. Thanks.

Yeah an FM modulator will play the sound over an FM channel. For example, when you turned on the DVD player you might tune your stereo to 88.7 FM and hear the sound through the speakers. It's basically the same concept as a Drive-In theater. But yeah your CD player and everything will work just the same.
