My best friend just got a aftermarket deck in his beater car, its a 2005 ls sport 5 speed. his door chime goes off on its own at times. can someone tell me how to disconnect this thing. he told me the sound was coming from under the driver side. by your feet. thanks for ur help! -AJ

his door chime probley goes off because his seatbelt isnt done up, or the ebrake isnt down. Also, did he use a relotcate harness, or just a gm2004metro harness.?

if he replaced the factory radio (or someone did it for him), there might be an aux speaker hidden up under the dash that just plays the chimes for lights/doors/e-brake etc.... if it's there, just disconnect it, as long as it doesn't matter that they'll never chime...

the chimes go away when u replace the stock HU right??
i just did mine like 2 weeks ago, but i havent noticed if its still there or not
i guess i just dont do stupid things to instigate the chime

I just glued the nipple shut in the door jam, and my dinging went away. Just dont forget to turn off your lights, cuz there is no dinging to remind you.

if he replaced his stock radio he should have lost the chimes, unless he paid for the stupid relocation harness

but yeah, the sound comes from the door speaker.......so cut the wires to it
