if the firewall is like the 89, then the brake line will have one too. I dont know how big of wire you can get in it, but I can get an 8 gauge in it easily. But I've never checked the engine compartment of the newer ones so I dont know.

Raise the trunk floor about 2.5 to 3 inches and recess the amp in there and cover it with plexi. Just make sure that your box will have enough room. Or depending on the size of the amp mount it sideways on the side of the trunk. Or make a pull out drawer under the back deck.... Just use your imagination the possibilities are endless. All depends on the amount of work you want to do and the construction abilities that you have.

I have my Jensen 400w mounted in the small area on the drivers side in the rear. It is out of the way and i can run all of my wires under the carpet so you can barely tell they are there. Also i have my 4awg power wire as well as 3 16awg wires running through the grey grommet on the firewall.

Back of the trunk right in front of the taillight. Makes for a nice place to hide any excess wire.

I mounted mine on the back of my box, didnt have to do any modifying to the trunk and it went right in. Check my CarDomain and go to the 2nd page, last picture.. its a clean setup and looks good. The CarDomain is in my sig.
