Hey i was wondering where u guys have your amps mounted in ur trunks. I'm tring to get some ideas of where i can put mine so its out of the way and wont have wires hangin every whitch way.
i put mine on the back of the back seat and ran wires under the carpet of the back seat
where did u run ur power wire? i cant find anywhere to run it
up the drivers side, You can get the 4awg through the firewall through the grey gromet above the clutch pedal.
autotragic dont got a clutch pedal but i know what u mean
if the firewall is like the 89, then the brake line will have one too. I dont know how big of wire you can get in it, but I can get an 8 gauge in it easily. But I've never checked the engine compartment of the newer ones so I dont know.
ok i went today to mount my amp on my back seat and theres like nothing there i can feel 2 flat "poles" in there by my amp doesn't reach both of them. Now what do i do?
Raise the trunk floor about 2.5 to 3 inches and recess the amp in there and cover it with plexi. Just make sure that your box will have enough room. Or depending on the size of the amp mount it sideways on the side of the trunk. Or make a pull out drawer under the back deck.... Just use your imagination the possibilities are endless. All depends on the amount of work you want to do and the construction abilities that you have.
I have my Jensen 400w mounted in the small area on the drivers side in the rear. It is out of the way and i can run all of my wires under the carpet so you can barely tell they are there. Also i have my 4awg power wire as well as 3 16awg wires running through the grey grommet on the firewall.
Small Area on the drivers side??? Front or back of the trunk? theres small areas on either side of the towers
Back of the trunk right in front of the taillight. Makes for a nice place to hide any excess wire.
I mounted mine on the back of my box, didnt have to do any modifying to the trunk and it went right in. Check my CarDomain and go to the 2nd page, last picture.. its a clean setup and looks good. The CarDomain is in my sig.

Here is a pic of the layout for my amps. I hope that it helps you out some.

2009 Ford Mustang V6
mines mounted on the back seat on the left side(if youre looking at the back from the drivers seat)

happy happy joy joy
How did u get urs to hang on the back seat i tried and everything i drilled or screwed into the back seat either didn't go in or it striped the threads right off the screws?
well i dont know about you but my back seat has like 6 or more poles on the carpeted side i found two that fit perfect and put two screws in each one hold up fine
yea mine has those ribs too but everything i tried to screw into it it just wont go in and even if i drill a hole first it just shaves the screw into a nail
Get some small self taping screws 5/16..... thats what i use and i put mine on the back of my back seat... my whole thing is one big sheet of metal ... no poles..
