Bought the Alpine- 9855 HU

so as the title said.. I bought a head unit...

ive read all the FAQ and Stickys about losing only your chimes...
but then I read about peoples lights @!#$in up and other @!#$ like that....

I have an 01' Z....

just wondering if it's like any other car... to install that is...

I have installed on in another car... with no problems....

walk through if it's different.. or a what not to touch and what you can touch if it's differnt on a cav...

I own the 9835 (last years 55) you will not regret it in anyway, In most cases probably one of the best Hu's on the market period. Enjoy.

Try re-reading that sticky again. The ONLY thing you're going to lose is your chimes. Not airbags, you won't shoot oil out of your engine, your trunk won't catch on fire, it won't be a deer magnet, none of that.

lol no I know that lol.. I read the whole thing... lol

I meant is there anything different in the wiring.... because in one of the post it says he @!#$ up there was 2 wires and he used the wrong one...

or can I wire it the way I wire all the other decks???

Wire everything except the red wire into your 2000+ harness. For the red wire, get an add-a-fuse at your local auto parts store, plug it into your wipers fuse, and run a wire from the add-a-fuse to your red wire on your deck's harness. It's clean, and you'll have your ignition wire there

i wouldnt tap into the wiper fuse. just find the thick brown wire under the steering wheel and taop that(fuse it).

and why wouldn't you tap the wiper fuse? It'll be fused, and much simpler than getting to the brown wire.
