Fog light wiring trouble
Tuesday, August 23, 2005 5:26 PM
Here is what I have so far:

What is the yellow wire?
What is the yellow wire with a black stripe?
Which one goes to the Red wire and which one goes to power?
Where should I tap into for power?
Where should I put my inline fuse?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

well the yellow wire is most likley the input for the power, and the black yellow is probably for the power out put when the switch is in the on position. you should check this with a multimeter to make sure that this is true (check for continuity on the yellow and yellow black in the on position). yellow black goes to the red wire.

I tapped into the large brown wire in the wire loom under the dash, didnt cut and splice, i used a tap off plug. i used a test light to determine that it was on when the car was on. I took it to a distribution block before i sent it to my switch, so i can run more off the same line (neons, radar detector, etc...).

Put the in line fuse close to the 12v source that you choose ( my brown wire) so if you pop the fuse you run less risk of frying the wire.
