I bought a scoshe kit from my local walmart in April (its the one with the seperate pocket). I installed it and it didn't look good so now I have to redo if and on top of that my Kenwood radio bezel is cut up because it would look bad and show metal if it wasn't on. Scosche is the only brand available here besides Crappy Tire brand (BB won't sell me anything from their garage, the sales guys always point me to the 95-99 kit and i tell them no) The instructions in the kit were printed badly and it didn't show that spacers need to be used, this is why my install went bad. The instructions don't ask for the back plastic of the radio bay to be cut for the cavs and sunfires, but it does for some other GM vehicles, so my spacing is messed up.
But overall my opinion of this kit is bad, maybe it'll look better once its fixed who knows.
Thats my 2 cents.
i have the scosche kit....and the metra kit.
the scosche kit is ok, but the seperate pocket squeaks and makes noise....(fitting was fine for me).
the metra kit has the pocket built in...much better quality

did you use the spacers on ur scoshe kit? did you have to cut plastic in the back? and do you know how the kit has a recess for the radio so it goes in flush? did your deck go in all the way back?

i honestly don't remember using any spacers. and i didn't have to cut any plastic until i added 3 sets of rca's, an ip-bus cable...and some other stuff to the back of the deck, lol(not much room for wire cramming in a cavy dash).
here' s a pic of the scosche kit installed in mine..

thats weird, I looked at the spanish instructions and they were printed correctly and it showed to use the spacers because without the spacers the thing wouldn't look right it would sit to far in and there would be a gap in between the radio and the HVAC panel, so I didn't know that and I cut some of the other brackets and made my own spacers however it still looks like @!#$.
The deck was pushed back all the way into the kit and it wouldn't because of the plastic in the back but thats because I didn't try it with the proper spacers as the engineers have proposed.

thats weird that Best Buy won't sell you one outta the garage. especially since their main goal is sales. Best Buy is where i had to go for my bro's Accord. He got the Schosche kit from Wally World and it didn't come with the right brackets to mount it and didn't come with a compartment underneath it just a cover. Took it back went to Best Buy and got one from them. Fit like a glove. And yea, I had them go in to the garage to grab me one.

SO EVERYTHING!
Yes you use the Spacers just did mine with the walmart one and no you dont have to cut in the dash. i did the same thing is sat to far back because the instruction ARE wrong. With the spacers it looks perfect. sometimes just trying different things cant hurt.
I sent an angry e-mail to scosche stating what had happend and that my install looked like @!#$, they said they wanted to send me the proper cables for my car (t-harness) because of the computer((((BS))), I was supposed to call them back after the 4th of july never did, I guess I should get some money for a new Kenwood trim or call kenwood and tell them that it was broken maybe they'll send it to me for free.
