5 chanel amp

Does NE1 have, and wants to get rid of, or know where to get a descent 5 chanel amp, enough to run either all around MB quartz, or Infinitys, and a single 12". Preferably something that won't overheat, in the sun and produce a monotonous mid-tone as soon as you turn it on after it sat in a parking lot for a few hours?

I dont know about quality, but Audiobahn makes a high power 5.1 surround amplifier that sends 125w to the front 2, 75 to center and rears, and 800w to the subwoofer. All these numbers are RMS and NOT PEAK

Mind you audiobahn I think is very expensive

I'm not looking for audio competition, or "PRETTY" just something enough for 2 fronts, 2 rears, and a single sub 200-400 W. Just a good descent amp that has a good sound quality.

could always go with a distribution block, 4-channel small amp (like 400w, depending on what you need) and a high-power mono amp. I could pick up a kenwood 400w 4-channel for $250, and then an X-treme 800W mono amp for $350

not sure on the price of the Audiobahn one. But I'm sorry but no, I dont have one. But like I said, you can go to walmart, buy a scosche 240w-4channel amp for like $60 CAD, distrib block for $11 CAD, and then buy a monster amp for the sub(s) (I'd recommend Sony X-plod but... not exactly trusty when they say their 1200w amp is 400x2...
But, whatever works for you is good. Too much power means you need a better system (alt, battery, wiring, etc.), too little means sound distortion

I kinda want something, in an all in one unit, as oposed to having two or three diferent amps. kinda what WYSIWYG linked to... thanx... the one in the first link (D2205) looks exactly what i would want...
the second one 1100d5 looks really long...

I do believe in DEI's products, they are great, and not that expensive..

OK, heres what i found on ebay, could i get e sugestion, for quality, vs. price ---> a.k.a. would any of these be worth my time to buy?
all these are 5 ch.

a)Lanzar--> $140 @ 1600W (VIBE531)
b)Soundstream--> $199 @ 600W (xta600.5)
c)Phoenix Gold Octane --> $256 @ 900W (R9.0:5 5)

I just cant believe on a forum meant to help people someone would come in and suggesting buying audio equipment from wal-mart, and also recomend sony xplod crap... it just hurts my brain to see someone say that, and from what i read, to be so confident in saying all that garbage

well, just to have an amp, yeah i did the walmart thing, butthat was just a temp, so i would nbe able tro hear SOMETHING, as oposed to nothing at all... and the sony xplod series tottally sux, UNLESS, UNLESS, it has the MOBILE ES emblem on it, there hapends to be major diff there...
WIth directed, i believe i would have something descent, i've seen quite a few rides with directed, and i will say this, not too shaby....

why not run the rears off of the headunit power then get a good 4 channel amp. run first two channels to your front highs and bridge the rear channels to your amp. this will give you a good sound and give you hundreds of good amps to choose from that are relatively cheap.

When it comes to 5 channel amps I have only 2 companies THAT I would trust.

"Alpine & Planet Audio"

Planet Audio is my only option if money becomes an issue. (Budget 5 Channel Amp)

Alpine's MRV-F450 & MRA-D550 = my 2 top contender choices.

AND, originally i had a 4 ch amp, the first two were actually runing the rears, and the the other two were bridged for the sub, but since i will be runing components in all 4 corners, thats why i wanted a 5 or 6 ch.

whats the deal with everyone saying to power your fronts? not your rears, i figured that your rears are your bulk, and your fronts are there as fillers, to fill in what the rears can't up front..... therefore giving you a completly full car?

well i wasnt near my comp. and i got outbid on the directed one that wysiwyg
linked to...

Why is there not a bigger demand for the 5, 6ch, amps? it would only make sense, as oposed to having two maybe three seperate amps, i would think that a single "larger" amp would make for a much cleaner installl. right?

you have it backwards.

the front is where you face when you drive...your ears face forward for a reason. it only makes sense to put your sound in front of you.

when you talk to someone, you don't face your back towards them. same goes for the sound in your car.
