ok, so using a fuse tap seems like a very safe way to produce power through the wiper fuse, but will it be fine to branch off that wire to go to power my aftermarket deck, the pink wire to power factory amped speakers, and also to my amp in the back to power subs? and also , with a fuse tap is there another fuse insvolved and if so what number should be used for all this, thx
That fuse tap is sutable for the head unit. Get a new battery terminal and run a fused gauged wire with a fuse back to power your amp. The fuse tap comes with fuses for the radio.
Beat it like it owes you money
sorry i worded that incorrectly, i have 4gauge wire for my amp, but since my deck doesnt have a remote wire that is what i ment. could i use the fuse tap and branch off that to remote my subs amp , to turn on factory amped speakers, and to power my deck on/off
after matching up the speaker wires, all that is left on the deck is a red ignition wire and a power entenna wire, unless the power entenna can also be used as a remote wire???
i wouldn't use the power antennea wire. Some PA wires are only hot when the radio is on..not the cd player. (dunno about our cars though).

well i just bought the fuse thing, all i need to know is can i only use this to power the deck and have to run a different wire for remote to the amp for the factory speakers and my amp in the back for the subs, or can i use this to turn on all 3 by splicing into it, its more of a.... , can this thing handle turning on all 3 of these.. question
thx =)
*bump*
no one knows if the fuse tap could handle turning on these 3 things?, and if it cant, what are my options...., my installation awakes your input ...
it will at least power the h/u and turn on your amp... i would imagine it would work for the factory amp also, but i don't have any experience with that much going through it... can't you just run a small gauge, fused wire from another power source? that way you won't have to worry about it.
You can use that to power your amplifier remote wire as well, seeing as it's a very light wire. But why do that when 99.9999 percent of aftermarket decks have a remote turn-on wire for an amp?

Does your head unit have rca's in the back of it? Hell, which head unit do you have?

^^^Even with RCA jacks you still need a remote wire to turn on the amp...otherwise it would have constant power from the battery and drain it...am I right, or would someone like to correct me?
if he put an aftermarket head unit in then it will have a remote for his amps. He just needs a fuse tap for the 12v remote for his head unit. He can then use the head units remote to turn on his amps.
