Well this is the thing I have a Rockwood Fosgate amp. (sry if spelling is wrong) I have it all hooked up right and it worked fine.
now today i was one my way home from work and i went to turn the bass up a little and nothing. I checked out all the wiring and all was fine. I have an indicator light on the unit says protection. any ideas why this may have happened? and a way to fix?
your probably running your amp at too low of a load. or it's over heating.
what is the amp stable too?
what ohm are your subs?
how are your subs wired?

well could it be that it was over 100 degrees out today?
and i have two sonys they claim 1300 watts peak run off the amp on the left and right
and i tried turning the dials on the amp both ways and still nothing.
This is how it is set up.
you answered NONE of the questions needed to diagnose this problem. try again.

thats probably cause i really dont know much about this. all i know is when i bought the stuff the gy at the audio place told me it will handle fine. and i dont know what you mean how are the subs wired? there is a wire to the positive on the amp and to the speakers and then the negative on both.
Sounds like you need to take it in and have someone who knows what they're looking at check it out. And if you're not sure what you're doing it's really not a good idea to go back there and start turning dials.

your amp is a peice of crap it cant put out enough power for your speakers

that really has nothing to do with the issue at hand.
if you have a protection light on, look in your manual for the amp and it should have a trouble shooting area to give u things to do if the light comes on. first thing i'd do is check your wireing, make sure your connection are good, that your ground is good, that wires arent touching each other.
