should most component sets have an amp put to them, or will there still be a good improvement from the factory system. (2005 chevy equinox).
and if you say yes to the amp, can that kind of vehicle handle an amp for the components and one for my subs that i already have?
i intalled a set of components on my stock HU....i love them
Will they work off of the deck power? Most of them will. Will they sound better amped? Most definitely yes. And as far as if your car can handle it, I would say yes, but you might want to have it load tested just to be absolutely sure.

it depends on how much power oyu are trying to run whther or not the car can handle it...
i would say amp em, sound will be a million times better, but they will work off the head unit

im with sndsgood amp every speaker in the vehicle much better sound quality
yeah big difference when I amped all my speakers.
Like everyone else said, amp those things.
As for if the vehicle can handle the power, well, only one way to find out.

The system has arrived.
Even if you amp factory speakers they sound a ton better. The first upgrade you actually want in a system is to amp your speakers and add a sub if you want. If you like your factory deck, keep it , its just a source anyway. Any questions you have let me know, I have worked at a stereo shop since I was 15.
good to know you worked at a stereo shop since u were 15.. .but apparently you still think a stock deck will suffice just as well as a decent aftermarket cuz after all "its just a source"........uhg

If you like your stock deck like some people do they will work fine, I am not going to recommend it though. You can build off of an aftermarket easier, this I know. Not everyone wants to spend $500.00 on a new deck. Depends on what you want to do, for a "basic" upgrade, stock is fine as "just a source".
im not just saying a better deck is better for building off of, but you do realize the deck plays a roll in sound quality as well

If you listhen to your music on mid to mid high volumes the difference can be hard to tell for the untraiend ear. the V-drive capability on my alpine deck sounds fantastic... BUT I am still amping my comps.. Don't get me wrong, but setups can still sound great non amped. (speaker wise)
