Ok so I used to have 2 Audiobahn Immortals the 2003 ones that didnt have the stupid looking basket they were just business but they were 55lbs each which is mostly why I wanted rid of them. I hit 143.1 with them. I picked up a 15 inch 2003 Kicker L7 in a trade and its only been enough for a 138 and it doesnt really fit right in my trunk so I been thinking about going back to a circle subs or just two 12 inch L7s
The subs ive been considering are all 12s
1. The new Mayhem Alphasoniks (which are basically a stronger version of the audiobahn immortals)
2. MTX 9500s
3. JL W7
4. Kicker L7
5. Pioneer 2000SPL
6. Alpine X
Any other good spl lighter than 50lbs each subs in 12s out there?

don't know about the wieght of them but the Daimond TDX's are BADASS, I heard 2 ported 10's and its hits like a million times harder then my buddies car with 2 13W7's (sealed) with a JL1001 to each sub (both systems profesionally installed and done right
if I had the money the TDX would be my sub of choice over everything, they can take lots and lots and lots of power (the 10's I heard had 1200 watts RMS to each) they hit really @!#$in hard and sound awsome. My car is niothign special, its all ment for SQ but I hit about 139 DB but this grand prix with the 2 10's hurt to be inside of
if money was no object i would go with 1 jl 13w7.i know you said you were considering 12s but that jl 13w7 is a beast.i heard 1 in a mercedes with a jl1000/1 powering it,it was unbelieveable.the sound quality was amazing and it hit hard as hell.
but this is only my opinion.i would try to go listen to them in a car if possible, that way you can decide if you like the way they sound in the "real world" not in a sound room.no speaker will sound the same in a car as it did in a sound room.
Rodimus, what is it you want from your sub? SPL or SQ? Because I notice you posted the 9500's and the W7's which are in a completely different class then the Kickers and Pioneers. Not saying one is better then the other, just that the 9500's and W7's are meant more for SQ and the L7's and the 2000's are meant more for SPL.

2009 Ford Mustang V6
I want a stong SPL sub for competitions but with good enough SQ for daily listening, money isnt really an object within reason, I want something lighter than 55 lbs though right now I really like those new alphasoniks but I'm still waiting to hear back from thier tech support on how much exactly they weigh

The new Type R's and X's have been good subs that I've seen. If you are considering weight, the alpha's are roughly the same weight as the bahns, well actually I think a tidbit more because of the "heat sink" on the magnets.
You could look into the DD 3500 series,RE SX, Atomic AP, Soundstream T4 series... etc.

anyone see what the type x's are doing in stereo comps as far as numbers, i was hitting 143.1 in a sealed 1.25 box, i certainly dont want anything less than that, space kinda limits me to 2.5 ft total and I like running with 2 12s, id perfer to stay under 300 a sub but depending on the quality if warrented i might go higher

That rules out anything above a 12w3v2 for JL.

I don't think you will be hittin 143 + in a sealed box, you should be safe, Port that baby though and give it some breathing space and you have a 147 db + sub easy.
