amp overheating???

okay.. heres the deal... my subs work fine goin to work in the morning.. but in the afternoon on the way home.. after about 5 minutes they turn off.. is this my amp overheating? if it is how can i stop that?
any suggestions?

first check to see if there is any chaffing going on in any of your wires. then check the ground. if it still does it, place a cooling fan like the ones found at radioshack next to your amp. if it still does it turn your gain down. other than that take your amp in to get checked.

does your amp have any thermal protection built in? does it have a trouble light for thermal overload? does the amp come back on after a while of being off?

if ur running it in Bridged mode, swap the speaker wire to the opposite port of where they are now, worked for me
