got a question

this weekend i put in my whole audio system its bout 1600 watts peak total . as im going along listening to the radio thumpin pretty good the radio turns itself down then after bout 45 seconds it returns to the volume it was set at. and it does it spuratically , only thing i can think of its the alternator, maybe it isnt strong enough to handle the load of the system and the car , i am also noticing the lights dimming when the bass hits

any answers am i right ?

most likely its a loose ground.. or your system is trying to draw to much and your alternator can not handle the power.. i asuime that this is the problem and that the extra energy was comming from the battery but now the battery is drained low so it just dims and your amp goes out.. i would check the ground and make sure its very well connected.. and then i would take the car and have the battery checked.. might have to either get a capacitator or a high amp alternator.. good luck

speakers are still stockers , headunit is a pioneer p7700 , amp is power acoustic 1600 watt max

ler that was what i was thinkin would a cap suffice the problem ? i am hearing mixed reviews about caps some people swear by them some not so much lmao question is who do i believe ? lmao if it fixes the light dimming and the volume problem then i can wait for the high output alt. the headunit needs to be sent back anyways cause the remote wire wasnt live. so i will get a replacement for it. who knows that might also be why the volume is screwy cause at the moment the amp is connected to the acc. wire (i know what your thinkin thats not the right way to do things but we were in a jam )

thanks guys
