Help... Wiring Deck Issue????

So I'm stupid. I'm sorry

Can someone PLEASE help me???

Here's what I have...

A 2005 Sunfire... 1SV Base Base Base package.

I have a Sony MEX-5DI CD player with Sony Wiring Harness, then the $15 GM Wiring Harness plugging into the stock radio wiring.

I DON'T WANT THE DAMN CHIMES ANYWAY.

Here's what I've done... I have connected the black wire to black wire and bolted it to a ground (a bolt at the edge of the radio housing in the back). Red wire to Red wire. Yellow wire to Yellow wire.

Thats it, as I've got 3 amps and 4 sets of Components going in next.

WHY DOES THE RADIO NOT TURN ON?

The $15 wiring harness said something about a separate red wire I needed to attach to a fuse box??? WTF???

Whats going on?

ANY HELP PLEASE IS APPRECIATED!

read the sticky post up on top. it's more than a simple plug and play for you guys. with my wife's 02 i had to pick up the geo harness and use the wiper for power.

yep, gotta run a wire to an accessory power wire and connect that to the switched power (red) wire on the harness

you have no switched 12v source in your wire harness. you can tap into a brown wire in the loom above your hood release, or you can use a fuse-tap (sold in autozone, pep boys, etc) and tap from your windsheild wiper fuse. both work just fine, dont let anyone tell you otherwise. ive got a guide online on a full install from start to finish, link is somewhere in the sticky.
