Dynamat vs Fatmat or is there something else
Friday, June 10, 2005 4:38 AM
I searched the fourms and didn't find the answer i was looking for. I see how peaple say fat mat is pretty good and dynamat is really good but with a price tag I see a few people talking about brown bread. Is this better then the other two. I am just looking for people who have messed with this stuff to fill me in on there knowledge.

I already have 36sq ft of xtreme dynamat in my trunk.

My Question.

What give best results?? Is fat mat just as easy to apply as dynamat

36sq ft = ~95 bucks + 29 ship ( ebay )

100 sq ft = ~100 bucks + 29 ship ( www.fatmat.com )

thanks for advice

It's all more or less the same thing, I think dynamt is a little stiffer
I used bquiet simliar to brown bead.
IMO don't buy dyamnt get your monies worth with the other off brands, even if you have to double up in some places it's still cheaper overall.

adding mass (weight) to an objest helps kill resonance and vibrations just as much as sound absorbing pads if you use enough of it. i buy the cheaper stuff and just do more of it. i did 3 layers in the sunfire, i used standard damping sheets from parts express. but the fatmat and brownbread are both good too.

ya i bought a 100 sq. ft. of FatMat also, awhile ago and i am happy with it, applies easily. it took awhile though cause I applied a crap ton in my trunk. but well worth it. as for the carpet, get a hold of Jason, aPlusPerformance. He sells ACC carpet
