I have been thinking about taking out the passenger air bag and putting in a dvd screen that would be electric. When you hit a button the air bag cover would open up and then the screen would be there. Hit the button again and it would shut off and close. Just curious if anyone has done this and if they would happen to have pics. Thanks and please feel free to do this if you can, I really want to see it done...Jay
If you don't mind your passenger dying, go nuts.

I don't ride with passengers nor do I drive like an idiot. I know more people that have been killed by air bags then saved from them....
Well, in that case it could be pulled off.
Thought I can't see you ALWAYS being alone, and remember, you could be the best driver in the world, it's the idiot that smacks into you that ends up being the problem.
If you felt the need to (trailered show car, etc.), I would say hook up the air bag cover to a slow pneumatic shaft that will lift it up, and then you could have an electric motor make the screen come up.
You'd also want to do something pretty under the cover
Those HVAC tubes are ugly.

You have very good point about the hvac tubes. But I was assuming all electric. Where would you buy a pnuematic shaft? I know AutoLoc carries the electric ones.
You could go electric too I suppose, just figured pneumatic would be faster, usually you can find them at autoparts stores, Autozone, Princess Auto....I dunno where you could go, I'm canadian
Maybe somebody else can help with that part
